Women and Girls with RHD – Pregnancy Focus

Completion time: approximately 1 hour

It is recommended that the Women and Girls with RHD program is completed before attempting this program. 

This online learning program is designed for nurses and midwives who are responsible for or interested in the care of pregnant women with rheumatic heart disease. On completion of this program, participants will be able to

  • describe culturally safe care for pregnant women who have rheumatic heart disease.
  • identify tertiary interventions available in Australia for women with rheumatic heart disease during pregnancy.
  • identify factors which can complicate pregnancy associated with rheumatic heart disease.
  • describe treatment options for women with rheumatic heart disease during pregnancy.
