This online learning program is designed for nurses and midwives who are responsible for or interested in the care of pregnant women with rheumatic heart disease. On completion of this program, participants will be able to
- Describe care required for women with rheumatic heart disease during pregnancy.
- Identify some tertiary interventions available in Australia for women with rheumatic heart disease during pregnancy.
- Identify the women most at risk of complications in pregnancy due to rheumatic heart disease.
- Identify the potential complications in pregnancy due to mitral valve replacement.
- Describe treatment options for women with rheumatic heart disease during pregnancy.
- Describe the considerations for medication delivery for women with rheumatic heart disease in the perinatal period.
